I'm trying to think of clever words to begin my first post. And I'm baffled. Maybe that's why I never have been a consistent blogger-because I seek to sound so poetic or clever or just plain interesting. But whatever. Here's the deal. Life is crazy. I haven't been the best at documenting everything for my kids so this is my attempt! And for anyone else out there who would like to know what our days are like at the Gore zoo/house, you're in luck.

I guess I should begin with...the beginning. In a nutshell, Caleb and I met through a mutual friend. Our first date was at Caleb's house. He cooked a meal of steak, baked potatoes, salad, and corn on the cob (which I couldn't eat at the time because I had braces, so he cut it off for me. What a gent). The next date I cooked for him at my apartment. All the other dates are a little bit of a blur. This picture was taken about 2 months after we met.

Oh, and let me back the bus up. When I met Caleb I knew he had a son. I didn't meet him until a couple months or so after we started dating. Before meeting Caleb I never desired to date a man with a child. All those negative thoughts when out the door when I met Caleb, and then his amazing son Peyton. It didn't matter to me that life would be a little more complicated if we worked out because both Caleb and Peyton were worth it to me. You can't help but just fall in love with the little guy as soon as you meet him, and I did!

Well I am off to tend to Maci...Maci, you say? Yes, she will be introduced soon. I promise! For now I must quit typing and give her my attention!
